Chantix Dosage

Smokers who are planning to go for Chantix with the prescription of the doctor should decide a particular date for stop smoking. They should begin using Chantix one week prior to that date. First you will be given a low dose and then slowly moving on to 1 mg.

Days 1 to 3 = 0.5 mg of Chantix once daily

Days 4 to 7 = 0.5 mg of chantix twice daily

Days 8 to end of treatment 1 mg daily.

The medicine should only be taken after a proper meal with a full glass of water.

Chantix is generally prescribed for 12 weeks. If you are able to completely quit smoking within 12 weeks the doctor may tell you to carry it further for another 12 weeks so that you can completely get rid of this smoking habit.

Chantix users should always tell their doctor about their past medical reports so that the dose can be given accordingly. Like people with Kidney and heart problem are often provided with a low dose of chantix .

As we are all aware that it has certain side effects therefore it should only be taken with the prior permission of the doctor. If the patient cannot tolerate these side effects he should emmediately get his dose reduced temporarily or permanently

If you miss a dose of chantix no need to worry take it as soon as you remember that you have forgotten you dose. If you remember it at the time of your next dose skip the earlier one ant take the one required at that time. Do not take up extra medicine to cover up the earlier dose.Excecc medicine can cause adverse effects on your body.

Store Chantix at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
